Brand name on "generic" product

Context- New seller yet to list my first item...

I have identified a "generic" product for sale - unbranded product with no GTIN / UPC. The manufacturer has offered to affix a sticker to the package with a logo and/or product name/details. I figured I'd come up with a creative name for the brand and make a logo to match and affix to the package but wondering if this is more trouble than it's worth...

When I create a new listing, if I say the product is unbranded and has no GTIN, Amazon grants me a GTIN exception and uses the "Generic" brand. But when I enter a unique brand name, it asks me to register the brand name with pictures of the packaging etc. Of course I don't have the packaging just yet to do this. Also, the brand / logo is something I came up with...no trademark or IP is registered. Going through the Brand Registry (or IP Accelerator) service will be overkill for my very small production.

Is it recommended in this case to simply skip the brand / logo and go with a generic listing? Or worth "registering" the brand even though the package will simply be generic in nature with a sticker logo affixed? Alternatively, can I go with a generic listing but still have a simple logo sticker affixed to the packaging as it will look more professional.

Greetings @A29LXCVCC6S8YB,

In general I would not recommend listing your branded products under a Generic ASIN. This is a violation of the Generic Product policy. I would recommend attempting to relist your product with the correct Brand. If you have errors please provide your Case ID here and I can see what options I can offer. Thank you for your understanding.
