FedEx 2nd Day Shipping

Can someone explain this delivery date by Amazon based on their policies. We are NOT part of SFP. Here is their policy for two-day shipping.

“Two-Day Shipping will show an Estimated Delivery Date (EDD) that is two or three business days after the order date. Orders that you receive Monday-Friday before 2:00 p.m. ET/11:00 a.m. PT, will show an EDD that is two business days after the order date. Orders that you receive after 2:00 p.m. ET/11:00 a.m. PT on a business day, or on a weekend or holiday, will show an EDD that is three business days after the order date.”

See the order, showing delivery on Saturday.

I believe if you turn off Automated shipping settings for that template will fix that and be a Monday delivery.

It's also FedEx. They deliver on Saturdays except to Alaska and Hawaii. So Amazon counts it as a business day for FedEX

This is not a new issue. It has been this way for months. Basically Amazon counts Saturday as a business day for premium shipping options. So basically any orders from Wednesday after cutoff until Thursday cutoff have to be delivered on Saturday. Orders after cutoff Thursday until Friday cutoff have to be delivered on Monday.

We ship around 100 orders a day using Fedex 2day one rate. We don't have an issue with the Saturday delivery for the most part, but Fedex won't deliver those Friday shipments until Tuesday. So every Thursday afternoon we have to edit our shipping template for these items, removing 2 day shipping and adding expedited 1-2 day shipping instead. Expedited orders shipped Friday don't have to deliver until Tuesday. So Amazon doesn't consider Saturday as a business day when calculating expedited 1-2 day.

Strange but true....

Where is shows "Shipping Service used to calculate delivery promise" Since that is there, that means you have shipping automation turned on for that template. Turn that off.
