Amazon Overpromising Delivery Dates Now? No USPS Ground-Advantage for Buy Shipping

I got a 1/5 star seller feedback less than 24 hours after a customer purchased something because they thought the package would arrive late. Once again, before we even dropped the package off we had a 1/5 star seller feedback because they THOUGHT the package would arrive late. We did actually pay for expedited shipping because of this feedback to get the package to the buyer as quickly as possible. Now I tried contacting the customer twice about removing this feedback, and they can't or won't and I don't think they are compauter saavy. I am also ticked off because I'm pretty certain Amazon is over promising delivery dates right now which makes it seem like packages will arrive sooner, then that forces us sellers to foot the more expensive bill for shipping if we want to be under the protection of Amazons buy shipping. I need assistance in this matter.

Please see case ID: 15207793461 . That is the feedback removal case that was denied for no reason

If you have the Automated Shipping Settings turned on, turn it off. It's nothing but trouble, often promising dates that the shipping system (which it apparently never talks to) does not think can be delivered.

Set your own shipping times in your templates.

If you bought your shipping through Amazon, and shipped on time, then the feedback should qualify for a strikethrough. Perhaps a mod such as @KJ_Amazon can check the case for you

The estimated arrival times sent to customers does NOTHING but cause me issues as a seller and needs removed from Amazon. There is NO reason to have it. It is a GUESS! Amazon has ZERO control over the post office and when an item is going to arrive, and all it does is make customers mad at ME! It's ridiculous the issues Amazon's policies cause me as a sller. I ship the day after somethings is ordered every time, and the estimated lies aggravate customers. They ream ME, not Amazon or the post office. Amazon has no clue when something is going to arrive any more than I do. The post office, since starting their ground service is HORRIBLE. They took on more than they can handle and I am the only one paying for it with refunds and A-Z claims. REMOVE THE EXPECTED SHIPPING TIMES Amazon! Do you hear sellers at all or care in any way at all? Quit making our job harder than it needs to be. Please. No reason whatsoever to have it, you are flat out lying to customers, and it is only your sellers paying for your lies.

I'm noticing that orders which have been held due to payment issues will keep their original delivery date.

Are you saying that the customer sees a different delivery window when ordering than you see when you look at the 'manage orders' page?

Also, what kind of product are you selling to attract customers like this? Troglodyte chow?

This has actually been happening for years. There was an article in Time Magazine many years ago about the deal that Amazon made with the USPS for delivery times to make delivery dates seem favorable.

We've had this issue for months now and SS of course says there is nothing wrong...when a customer is looking at our listing they see a date that's 10 days out or more, but when they purchase it they tell us we have to deliver in 5-7 days, this drives more business to FBA away from FBM sellers and keeps their fulfillment centers busy.

And it makes no difference how we set our shipping estimates on the templates, they just override it.

To compound this they have also been requiring us to ship most orders via UPS or priority/express mail, it seems they have a deal with UPS now to drive more business to them away from USPS.

To make matters even worse we cannot get UPS to honor any claims from Amazon shipments, they let us open the claim but then require proof of value, and when you try to upload that it always says 'technical issue, try again later'....thus they never have to pay the claims....meanwhile they break half the packages they handle.

Lose/lose for FBM sellers lately and nothing we can do about it.
