Shipping weights audit
Hello everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has noticed that the weights are wrong on the shipping labels vs what was entered on Amazons buy shipping? Today I shipped a 6 lb. package via UPS. When the label printed it showed I was shipping a 2 lb. package. As we all know, we have been getting audited lately on shipping weights and dont want something like this to snowball before its too late. Unfortunately/fortunately this is the first one that I've seen/caught. I have attached screenshots of the error, one of the label that printed and the weight that was actually input on Buy Shipping at the bottom.
Thanks!

I saw someone else mention this happening a few weeks ago. I haven't noticed it happening on any of my shipments yet, but it must be an Amazon bug. Unfortunately getting Amazon to acknowledge or fix bugs is like pulling teeth, and it takes forever if they do fix it. I don't know if the weight printed on the label is just wrong and the weight on the actual manifest is correct, or if they are both wrong. If it's just the weight on the label that is wrong I don't think it will cause any issues.
I think Amazon uses a divisor of 166, and so calculating the dimensional weight on that box comes out to 2 lb. dimensional weight. Amazon does display the dimensional weight when the DIM weight is higher than the actual weight, but it looks like they have a bug where they sometimes display the DIM weight instead of the actual weight when the DIM weight is lower.

Hello @Seller_8D26KK9QpnREa . Thanks for calling out that shipping label issue and for the screenshot.
@Seller_DdmPiA1p1S2Wu called it: this is a label configuration issue. Sellers raised the issue in these threads:
Even though I enter correct weight into Amazon, the UPS label prints with wrong weight
FBM Shipping Labels Printing Different Weight for UPS
The labels are incorrectly listing the dimensional weight on the label even when the actual weight is the 'charged' weight, like for your six-pound package.
Please note that the correct dimensions and actual weight are being transmitted to UPS. The incorrect weight value displaying on the label will not impact UPS invoicing, but I am of course keeping an out for seller comments.
Our team has been working to correct the configuration.

This is still happening to me. Why is it taking so long for Amazon to fix this
