Pepper Spray is Allowed, But Products Removed
We sell self defense devices that use pepper spray. Last month Amazon took down several of our listings with no explanation.
Our inventory page shows "detail page removed" on these items. If we try to click "Fix Issue" it goes to the Product Policy Compliance which lists zero issues.
When we contact Seller Support they say:
"This product has been identified as a pepper spray or tear gas round, peppershot, a pepper spray gun, or similar pepper spray firing product. Although permitted for listing and sale on Amazon, these products cannot be sold into certain jurisdictions based on law and Amazon policy. For more information, please see the Explosives, Weapons, and Related Items Seller Help Page - https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/help/external/200164950?referral=A2FMO1DL2DDOZ9_A2IPON2GBR4C7S&referral=A2FMO1DL2DDOZ9_AO68YZ7XFG6DA"
Visiting this link, the only mention of Pepper Spray says it's a permitted listing that's subject to geographic sales restrictions. To my knowledge, Amazon restricts these geographic regions automatically.
I've tried using the Chat feature on support - it never connects. I've tried having them call me - it doesn't register when I select an option. I've filled out case after case and get the same copy/pasted response above. This is beyond aggravating and I can say with certainty Amazon has the worst customer support I've ever had to deal with (this isn't our first struggle to get help!) They clearly don't even read your message.
Please, does anyone have any advice on why this is happening to some of our products, and how can we get them back up?

Hello @Seller_xFqwlsChgMZ6c,
Thank you for posting your concerns.
I would like to ask you a few questions in order to better understand your concerns.
Is there a violation present on the Account Health Page?
When listing a product, you want to make sure the product is allowed to be sold in specific geographical regions.
Have you ensured that your product detail page has accurate information and is not flagging the product for restricted product issues?
Even if Amazon does restrict geographic regions automatically, as a seller, it is your responsibility to check to make sure that the items you are selling are allowed to be sold on Amazon and permitted to be sold geographically as well.
If you would like to provide the case ID’s here, please do so. This will enable the moderating team and myself to better assist you here.
Best regards,
Webb
