FBA Inventory after 9 months on stock

Hi there, we are a relatively new Seller and I was just told by someone from our office, that FBA inventory cannot be longer on stock than 9 months. After a 9 month period, there are 3 things to happen: You can take the inventory back if you are prepared to cover the shipping cost, if not, AMZ increases the warehousing cost tremendously and furthermore AMZ asks you to lower the price (sell out the goods). Is that accurate or a false information? Any additional information/experience helps.

BTW: Yes, I know, if it stays for 9 months it is not a good FBA product, I am aware of that.

Thank you and all the best,

Samuel

Actually, I believe there is an increase in storage fees earlier than 9 months and this may be the final increase. I stopped doing FBA quite a while ago, but yes, storage fees go up as inventory ages and those are your options to prevent that

Hey there @Seller_o38gP0s6psWR6- thanks for asking this here on the forums as I would bet there are others out there with similar questions!

While FBA fees are a wide topic, you can use the tools on this page to help calculate and plan for monthly inventory storage fees. I do see a shift in pricing following the 39 weeks (9 months) threshold, but do not see any notice that it cannot be stored for longer than 9 months. Hopefully you never have to find out!

I hope this helps, but please do let me know if I can help address any other questions on the topic!

Best,

Danny
