"Pride" trademark?
I received a message that I have an intellectual property violation for using the word "pride" in the description of an LGBT themed necklace.
The LGBT community has long had an agreement not to trademark Pride so that everyone could use it. If someone has trademarked Pride this is going to have a huge impact on the LGBT community.
I have asked 5 times for the trademark number or the name of the trademark holder so I can look into this. Amazon told me that they cannot provide that for me because they do not have that information. They can only tell me that someone owns a trademark for the word Pride in some category. They can't even tell me what category.
In that case, how can they say I am violating a trademark if they don't even know what the trademark is? That's like saying that no one can ever use the word apple again because Apple Computers has a trademark.

They are telling me I can't sell any candles with an Apple scent. They hit all my listings, stuff like "Salted Caramel Apple". I just spent 4 hours calling Account Health, Seller Support, and the Catalog team.
All of them told me I need a letter of authorization from Apple to sell any Apple scented candles. Its beyond frustrating and totally inaccurate.

Hello @Seller_hohRymUSDSZaI,
Thank you for posting your concerns with an intellectual property violation.
I wanted to inquire if this was a suspected intellectual property violation? If so these are typically identified by amazon and do not have a rights owner issuing the complaint. Rights owner complaints appear under received intellectual property complaints.
There have been a number of threads surrounding suspected intellectual property violations. As you mentioned if your product and listing are not misusing any trademarks, I encourage you to create a case to have the listing and violation reviewed.
Additionally as this was a few days ago, are you even still experiencing this situation, or were you successful in resolving the situation?
The forums community and I are here to support you. Please let us know how we can help you from this point forward.
Emet.
