SKU structure change
Hi, I need to update the SKU structure for my products on Amazon so that I have consistency across sales channels (one reason being we will implement buy with prime soon).
I want to have new named SKUs (both Parent and Child) for my products/ASINs and I do not want to lose reviews or listing ranking associated with them.
Before I go ahead and start tinkering, I wanted to check with this forum if my plan - which I explain below - is the right thing to do to achieve this.
Step 1. - For all child ASINs create new SKU by using “add another condition” option in Manage Inventory Tool in Seller Central. (I will name SKU as needed). I’m scared to do this with a bulk upload as there is always something that screws up.
Step 2. – Download bulk upload file for my ASINs already on Amazon from Catalog Tool. Add new row at top of spreadsheet and create a new Parent SKU. Associate the new child SKUs with the parent ASIN and remove from the file any reference to the old SKUs (so that they remain associated to old SKU Parent).
I plan to ship to Amazon new inventory with new SKU FNSKU and then start selling only when the old SKU depletes.
Is this the most efficient way to achieve what I need to do? Really appreciate your input.
Thank you!

Sure "Add another condition" will allow you to enter a new SKU for the SAME asin.
Make sure everything is ready to go before deleting anything

I would also be way too scared to do a bulk upload.
I know it would take forever, but I would open a new offer with each product and put your desired SKU in there.
You only need to do it once.
