create listing, fba and shipping
Hello everyone
I am an artisan, I am starting to sell my manual products on Amazon, I am trying to transfer my first listing to FBA, but in the process, it tells me about some barcodes that I do not have, what would the process be?
I'm also a little confused between adding a product by creating an asin and creating a listing, is it the same thing?
What should I do, try to add the products without changing the category and now they appear in the inventory as a listing, does this mean that the listing is already created? How to make it have the category changed?
Or is changing category only for products that already existed in the Amazon catalog?
I await your answers and sorry for so many questions, I'm a little overwhelmed...

I would suggest starting with Seller U about creating a listing. You create the ASIN when you create the listing (unless it is already made, but if it is your handmade items it would be under your brand). You can apply for UPC exemption in this process.

Good Evening @Seller_vq6sSNI1UbblA,
It looks like you were able to get an answer to your question from one of our seasoned sellers, @Seller_iobipI6xASRkh.
If their response helped you, feel free to mark it as “Most Helpful reply” using the 3 dots in the corner of their post. Just in case others have the same issue, the Most Helpful Reply feature brings the selected response right to the top of your thread. Sellers will be able to see the answer right away as your discussion will have a green checkmark when searched within the forums.
I also wanted to share a few help pages to answer your questions about listing items to sell on Amazon:
Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) uses barcodes to identify and track inventory throughout the fulfillment process. Each item that you send to an Amazon fulfillment center requires a barcode.
There are three kinds of barcodes for identifying products:
- Manufacturer barcodes (eligible barcodes include UPC, EAN, JAN, and ISBN)
- Amazon barcodes (such as FNSKU labels that start with an X)
- Transparency authenticity code (brand owner only, may be required to help prevent counterfeit)
Add one product at a time is an interactive web-based interface that’s used to list a small number of products, one at a time.
The Add Products tool can be used for the following:
- Match to an existing product listing: If you have a product that you want to sell that already exists on Amazon, you must match it to the existing product detail page.
- Create a new product listing: If the product that you want to sell does not exist on Amazon, you can list a new product and Amazon will create a new product detail page.
- Copy an existing listing: If you have products that are similar in nature (for example, two different bottles manufactured by the same brand with the same material), you can create the first listing and then use the Copy Listing feature. The feature lets you quickly copy product information from the first listing in your inventory and make only the required changes to the second listing.
In this case, it sounds like you are 'creating a new product listing' as you are adding something complete new to Amazon.
Correct. Here is the Seller University video called, 'Intro to listing products' that will help answer how everything works and should look if you created a successful listing. There are also more videos on the left hand side of the page if you want to watch more about the topic or other topics when it comes to Selling on Amazon.
How to make it have the category changed?

If you believe you have placed your listing in the wrong category here are two help pages to update your listing category:
I hope @Seller_iobipI6xASRkh and I were able to answer all your question. As previously mentioned, we would encourage you to review Seller University to help get you started on your selling journey that way you can avoid unnecessary fees, confusion about how to add a product and be aware of penalties that may occur on your Selling Account if policies are broken.
If you are not a part of the New Seller Community, I would highly suggest joining and reviewing the content in that group as well. Please let me know if you have any additional questions regarding the information provided above. May the sales be with you and have a great rest of your week.
Cheers, Cooper_Amazon
