Amazon is trying to charge me $44.79 after creating a new account
Hello,
Please I need help with a few questions;
1. Amazon is trying to charge me $44.78, why is Amazon trying to charge me this amount instead of $39 professional fee?
2. Amazon accepted my Debit card during registration of my Amazon Seller Account and I can't find any other prompts on my account to upload a credit card. Should I upload a credit card? if I upload a credit card, how do I verify it and are there any Credit card verification charges? Since there is no prompt to upload a credit card on my account, does it mean that I do not need to upload and verify a credit to be able to list products and sell on Amazon?
3. I intended to open an Amazon Seller individual plan but instead ended up with a professional seller plan, how did this happen? was there something I that I could have done during Account registration but skipped that made me end up with the professional seller plan? Or is the situation that regardless of how you filled your forms and opened the Amazon seller Account, all new sellers must end up with the professional plan by default ? is this the case ? I need to know if there was a way that I could have opted out of the professional seller plan during registration but failed to do so? I'm asking this question because I did not purposely set out to register for a professional seller plan but I ended up having it.
4. Currently I have gone to the Account info and downgraded to an individual plan but it says that my individual plan will become active in the next billing circle and that my Seller Account is still on the professional plan. Amazon keeps trying to charge me $44.79 not even ($39) but the charge keeps failing because I have insufficient funds in my debit card. I have message Amazon support to immediately downgrade my account instead of waiting till the next billing circle so that Amazon can stop trying to debit me. I do not want a situation where this charge keeps failing due to a currently insufficient balance in my debit card and I do not want a situation where Amazon suspends my Account for failed charges. I'm really worried at this point. Has anyone been through this? is it possible for Amazon to quickly downgrade my account and immediately stop trying to debit me (instead of waiting for the next billing circle to downgrade my account)?
5. Why is Amazon charging me more than $39 as a new seller? Why is Amazon trying to charge me $44.79 ?
Is there an amount charge for verification of credit/debit card? Is the excess amount of $5.79 charged for the verification of my debit card?

You must have a true credit card -- not a debit card.
The amount sounds like you are registered on a platform other than the dot com site?
No, Amazon does not charge for the "verification" of your debit card. They will charge your debit card the amount necessary -- but even if the charge is successful that debit card will not suffice to allow you to use your selling account.

Good Afternoon @Seller_nvREz0hCYsDCm, I wanted to check in with you regarding your discussion about downgrading your selling account and requesting a refund on for the professional selling account fee. I did see in your case log that on 10/10/2023 you were able to work with Selling Partner Support to successfully downgrade your selling account.
Did you by chance hear back from the support team regarding any additional guidance for the professional selling account refund? Looking forward to hearing more from you soon. Sincerely, Cooper_Amazon
