ATTN MODs -- Fixing categories on brand registered products

Some third party sellers were changing the categories on a large number of branded video game products, mostly to books but also to baby, computers, and other categories. I'd like to fix these in one swoop. The brand is registered. Seller support won't help, saying only the brand owner can fix it. The brand owner approves of reselling but doesn't participate in these product pages. They won't fix it. Is it worth creating a case including all of the ASINs and providing a case ID here for escalation? It seems that Amazon would be at least be concerned about products that are not baby products being claimed to be baby products.

Many of these product pages were created by me. I used accurate categories and provided lengthy descriptive content (which was also altered/deleted by the rogue third party sellers). I only care about fixing the categories. These products should have been protected from alteration from anyone besides the brand owner itself. I suspect the seller that was allowed to change categories from video games to books was the giant national chain of bricks-and-mortar used bookstores that currently has several Amazon seller accounts and I assume has higher privileges than other normal seller accounts. This company was offering used copies of some of the affected products at the time I looked into it. They are mostly known for books and most likely uploaded their used video game inventory to Amazon using a books template and was wrongly allowed to change the categories.

I would only be referencing ASINs that I currently have in stock. There are likely many more products in this brand that have been changed to an inappropriate category.

Just a bump to hopefully get a mod to respond.

This problem has a few concerns other than the baby category that Amazon might be interested in resolving.

1. When video games are wrongly placed in a non-media category, it causes them to be assessed lower, incorrect referral fees. Media products have that extra $1.80 per unit referral fee, so Amazon is losing this for video games placed in the baby, computers, collectible cards, or electronics category.

2. When video games are in the books category, it allows sellers to ship orders for them via Amazon Buy Shipping using the cheaper USPS Media Mail and Bound Printed Matter services, intended for books. Video games are specifically not allowed with these shipping methods. USPS inspects random Media Mail and Bound Printed Matter packages for compliance. If USPS were to inspect one containing a video game, they would bill the extra postage due for USPS Ground Advantage to the Amazon customer. These customers would be inconvenienced and angry.

3. This causes Buy Box eligibility problems. Sellers with eligibility in video games may not have eligibility in the other, incorrect category, and sellers who don't have eligibility in video games may receive eligibility in the incorrect category.

4. Bad data makes Amazon look bad in general.
