The "X bought in past month" data in search works against new and smaller sellers
I believe there's a pilot going on for this and this feature hasn't been rolled out to all customers yet. But it's another thing that makes me want to leave Amazon as a seller.
We are a small brand with a product that's selling well and are planning to launch a new product in a somewhat competitive category. Unfortunately, now no matter how much search and listing optimization we do or how much money we spend on amazon ads, I feel we will never be able to make any dent with this new product.
Because in ads and search results, a customer is going to look at: number of reviews, rating, and NOW the sales velocity.
Even if we somehow manage to get 20-30 reviews over a month through aggressive spend on amazon ads, our product will sit next to products with for e.g. 4K reviews, 4.4 rating, and 4K units sold in the last month. Our ads will also have a terrible ACOS for these reasons, so we can't throw money at this problem either (again - we're a SME).
So I guess Amazon just wants 5-6 products to do well in each category (including their own amazon basics), while the rest of us sellers will be there just to spend money on ads hoping to "one-day" have good sales.
Anyone else facing drop in sales or increase in ACOS due to this 'X bought in past month' data being displayed?

I don't think that this is due to the "bought in past month". It's summer, it's hot, the people are outside and in holidays. We have the "bought in past month" and the sales are down, too. Don't worry, the people don't notice that too much.

Hi @purap,
Thanks for the post.
In this situation I recommend that you create a case with Seller Support detailing the situation. They will need to be engaged to troubleshoot further and engage the proper teams needed here.
Thanks in advance,

I agree . . . this is terrible for Handmade! Mass producers have copied my unique sizing and are showing 600+ sold in last month for multipacks of similar item. This is extreme pressure for customers to purchase what "everyone is purchasing." This is an unfair practice. Please reply to this message if you also feel this is unfair. My ACOS is climbing and my sales are drifting down from last year.
Handmade Support . . . please communicate with Amazon.
