Low VTR with Hong Kong Post – Need Advice on Appeals and Approved Couriers

**Title**: Low VTR with Hong Kong Post – Need Advice on Appeals and Approved Couriers

Hi everyone, I’m an Amazon seller based in Hong Kong, shipping to the US and Canada using Hong Kong Post, which hands off to USPS/Canada Post. My VTR is 30% on Amazon.com because Hong Kong Post isn’t on Amazon’s approved courier list. I found a thread on Amazon Seller Forums confirming that Hong Kong Post isn’t approved, despite being in the drop-down Another seller using China Post had a similar issue, where valid tracking wasn’t recognized, forcing them to put listings .

I’ve confirmed that all invalid shipments were delivered (I have tracking links from tools.hongkongpost.hk), but I can’t find an “Appeal” button in Seller Central. I’m working on switching to approved couriers like Easyship (USPS) but I need help with the following:

1. Has anyone successfully appealed invalid tracking errors when using a non-approved courier like Hong Kong Post? I saw a seller switch to FedEx and resolve their VTR issue [link to Web ID: 5]—any similar experiences?

2. Are there affordable approved couriers for small packages (<200g) from Hong Kong to the US/Canada? I’m looking for rates around $5–$8

3. Has anyone requested Amazon to add Hong Kong Post to the approved courier list? Any tips on making a strong case?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I noticed this discussion about your VTR challenges and I wanted to jump in here as an to provide some important clarification about what's actually causing your VTR issues and how to address them.

Looking at your situation, the issue isn't actually about Hong Kong Post's reliability, but rather about how tracking information is being entered in our system. Let me explain what's happening:

When you select "Other" or manually enter a carrier name in the textbox on the ship confirmation page, our system automatically marks the tracking as invalid - regardless of the actual delivery success. This means, even though you can verify deliveries through tools.hongkongpost.hk, the VTR is being impacted because of how the tracking is being entered in our system.

Only carriers listed in the Seller Central dropdown menu are integrated with our tracking system. Once a VTR score is captured, it cannot be modified as it's automatically evaluated. The good news is that these scores refresh in the next 30-day cycle.

Moving Forward:

  1. You must select carriers only from the dropdown menu in Seller Central.
  2. Avoid using the "Other" option - this automatically invalidates tracking.
  3. Monitor your progress through the VTR report (Account Health > Account Health > Valid Tracking Rate > Download report).

Thank you for seeking help here on the forums. We appreciate your commitment to resolving this issue and maintaining high standards for customer service.
