No USPS Priority Mail on order because SSA won't allow it?
I've akready gotten into the shipping doghouse with Amazon and they told me I have to enable SSA, so I did.
Recent order placed today, Sunday, must be shipped by Monday (we used to have option for 2-day handling on everything), me in DFW area, buyer in Miami and it requires ship by Monday and deliver by Wednesday Nov 27 based on UPS Ground. It has a little informational "i" which, when clicked, says "You will find the shipping service that was used to generate the delivery promise for this order. You are not required to ship with this specific shipping service, but it is expected that you will use one of the shipping services you enabled on your Shipping Settings Automation shipping template that can meet the delivery promise for this order."
My SSA has:
"Ship-from locations: 75115
Preferred carriers: USPS,UPS,FedEx
SSA-enabled: Standard Shipping"
It doesn't use USPS for calculating transit time, and thus requires earlier delivery. Why?
When I look at all shipping options, I get:
"USPS USPS Ground Advantage (1 - 70 lb) Late Delivery Risk Mon, Dec 02 $9.05
USPS USPS Priority Mail® Late Delivery Risk Tue, Dec 03 $9.42"
Trying both to save money (As UPS Ground is more for 2 pound package) and sav my generic boxes and use up my Priority Mail boxes as I don't normally use them anyway.

Hello @Seller_QHqYq8c9DaDpA
Christine here from Amazon forums.
It's understandable that you've been asked to enable SSA after some previous shipping issues.
This is Amazon's tool to help automate and standardize shipping options.
In your SSA settings, you have the "Standard Shipping" option enabled, which is likely what's driving the delivery timeline and carrier choice.
The reason USPS is not being used for the transit time calculation is that SSA likely defaults to prioritizing UPS and FedEx for the "Standard Shipping" option.
USPS Ground Advantage is often slower than UPS/FedEx Ground for longer distance shipments.
The "i" icon message indicates that Amazon is setting a delivery promise based on the shipping services enabled in your SSA template.
Amazon expect you to use a service that can meet this delivery promise, even if it's not the specific carrier they suggest.
You're correct that USPS Priority Mail may be a more cost-effective option for this shipment, especially if the item is lightweight.
However, SSA is likely not factoring in the faster USPS Priority Mail transit time.
You may consider adding USPS Priority Mail as an option in your SSA "Standard Shipping" template
Also, track the cost differences between USPS, UPS, and FedEx to ensure you're selecting the most economical option.
The other option is for you to contact our seller support team in order to configure your SSA template to better accommodate your needs.
The key is finding the right balance between meeting Amazon's delivery promises and selecting the most cost-effective shipping method for your customers
Let me know if you have any other question about this topic.
Christine.
