Do these "legitimate sources" also sell non-closeout? If not, then likely not a "legitimate source". Closeout and liquidation sources are generally not considered a valid supply chain.

Nothing done to you is "against the law". Amazon has a legal requirement to take seriously any questions of authenticity; if you are legitimate, there should be no problem showing that. However, sourcing from closeouts probably will not suffice, unless you also have written permission from Foster Grant.

How come a buyer can say my item is fake with no proof
Ver publicación

I understand you have questions regarding authenticity and your listing.

Buyers come to Amazon knowing and trusting they are able to purchase authentic goods. Generally, this will indicate someone has purchased directly from the brand in question or has the expressed authorization to sell the branded products. This will also include describing the product accurately at all times, including specifications, color, sizing, and any other applicable information.

The most common way to remedy the authenticity complaint is by the submission of an invoice, as @Seller_OvL8C4BJWiuS9 has stated. These documents will have certain requirements they do need to meet. These documents:

  • Should reflect the sales volume of your product across all Amazon marketplaces in the last 365 days
  • Should demonstrate your product’s full supply chain
  • Should include contact information for the supplier(s) and the original manufacturer. We may contact suppliers or manufacturers to verify the documents
  • Your documents should be able to trace your products to the original manufacturer even if you did not purchase them directly from the original manufacturer. This may require requesting additional invoices or supply chain documentation from your supplier if you are not sourcing directly from the manufacturer.
  • You may remove pricing information, but the rest of the document must be visible to enable adequate review of the documents you provide. For ease of our review, you may highlight or circle the ASIN(s) under review.

Do your invoices meet all of the points above?

While documentation might meet each of these requirements, it is still possible the information will not be verifiable. My team does not have direct insight into the process used by the review team, but there are steps taken to verify your supplier.

Is your supplier authorized to sell Foster Grant branded items? How were you able to verify this information?

Most of your buyer's experience is dependent on the information in the product detail page. What information is present on the detail page for this listing? What do the images look like? Is this information accurate?

It is also important to understand the feedback that was left by your customer. Is there any specific information left in the voice of the customer?

I understand this is a lot of information, so I would like to give you time to review it all. Feel free to answer the questions posed here and ask further questions if need be! The forums community and I are here to support you.

All the best,

Stevie

Amazon is buyer friendly; that's how it became so large.

And they treat sellers the way they do because they assume (often incorrectly) that sellers know what they are doing, and are running legitimate businesses. If Amazon finds out that the business may not be operating properly, the Amazon is not going to assume the liability of allowing the seller to continue operating until Amazon is convinced that the seller is legit.

Instead of driving to Foster Grant (do you even know who that really is?), why not just get authorized by them to sell their products on Amazon.

Well, have your contact put it in writing, and state that you are selling only authentic Foster Grant glasses, and submit that to Amazon.

Without something to fall back on, Amazon is NOT going to assume your liability if you are ever accused of selling fake, regardless of how much you believe that there are no fakes (and I suspect that, if you actually did call FGX, the person telling you this either is clueless, or just wanted you to go away. Have you attempted to provide anything as of now? We would recommend providing product details and images to further show that they are authentic if you are having difficulty with the documentation. Feel free to share the messaging that you receive in response to anything that has been submitted.

If you decide not to take action, the issue will remain on the account health page for 180 days from when it was first received and you will not be able to relist. We encourage you to continue to refer to this thread for any future questions or updates that you have on this situation.

Best,

Atlas
