Now Brands Can Direct Buyers to purchase OFF Amazon?

How is this true?

I did a search as a buyer of a particular brand and just a few items down in the search I was shown the first screen shot. It was hyperlinked to direct me to the brand's retail website. Um this is now allowed?...at a significant price I'm sure.

As a 3P seller, what does this mean if you sell a brand on Amazon if the Brand owner can now direct buyers off Amazon? The second screen shot is after clicking the “Learn More” link. Additionally, I noticed this is in Beta status, so I guess we should buckle-up?

This is a new amazon program and Amazon IS tied into the back-end and sellers are paying for the PPC to advertise this way.

I have said it many times before, Amazon is moving away from hobbyist sellers to brand owners and groups of brand owners.

This looks like it may be some new form of affiliate advertising with Shopify where Shopify stores pay to have their items advertised within Amazon search results.

The benefit to this would be to have access to the Amazon buyer while keeping your store policies.

Many years ago before Google and Amazon were fighting, we used to be able to run google ads on our listing and other listings.

This would allow a direct connection to our brands. I think it must have been 10 years ago now.

This just looks similar, a way to monetize clicks and get sellers to pay. After all, the money they make on ads has a MUCH higher profit margin that the fees they charge us.

Nothing personal, just business.

Yes this is a new BETA program for sellers. Amazon gets to sell an ad, and advertising is very profitable for Amazon.

Funny how all of these companies find new ways to squeeze in advertisements but not new ways to improve their service/product.

Many Many people talk of their dissatisfaction with Google compared to what it once was because Google has also been inundated with ads. I would love to claim that this behavior will drive consumers away like it did with Cable TV...but over the past 15 years Google still dominates with 90% of the market share.
