How can we buy insurance when using Buy Shipping through Amazon? The options are to input a declared value, but if a shipment is lost by USPS they require proof of insurance in order to cover the loss. The label and receipt doesn't provide insurance information (if there even is any when a value is declared) nor does it mention the declared value.

Insuring through Amazon buy-shipping has drawbacks.
Many have posted of their frustration trying to collect from UPS. USPS not quite so bad. Because Amazon holds the account, UPS won't talk to the seller. Amazon won't talk to the seller. They both point the seller at the other guy.
Some have persevered and eventually "won".
USPS has $100 indemnity included for commercial based Priority packages (without any extra insurance purchased).
A general observation about insurance: unless you are selling something fragile, insurance is a waste of money. Pack well and you avoid the need. Set aside the money you would have spent for insurance and self-insure.
Signature may be your friend. Insurance is just a waste of money.
