Buy Shipping label not printing right

Hi, new Amazon seller here.

I have a Zebra label printer which prints correctly in 4x6 format when using PirateShip for my other platforms.

When I first started using Amazon's "Buy Shipping," the labels printed out in about 3x4 format, and "Firefox" and the Amazon Seller Central url printed at the top, and "1 of 1" and the date & time printed out at the bottom. Fortunately the Post Office doesn't appear to have a problem with that.

A few days ago I downloaded Amazon's label-printing software (forget what it was called), and the labels started printing correcctly in 4x6 format.

However, today it went back to the 3x4 format, but worse, the tracking number was cut off at the bottom and was going to print on a second page and part of the label was cut off on the right side as well. I had to manually shrink down the size of the label to get all of the (tiny) label to print.

I notice that at first the Amazon label software asked permission before printing the (correct) label, but this time no permission was asked; it seems the software is no longer functioning, but it really screwed something up anyway.

Anyone have this problem, and know of a solution?

Hi @Seller_In1OZHF5lABCL,

Based on the help documentation, here are a few things to help resolve your label printing issues:

1. First, make sure you're using Amazon Print Connect (APC) for the best compatibility with Zebra printers. According to https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/GQ8WSSALNXZJEW3S, APC allows you to:

  • Print directly to thermal printers
  • Use native ZPL label format for Zebra printers
  • Select a preferred printer for all your shipping labels

2. For proper 4x6 formatting, the help page (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/G200178470) mentions:

  • Make sure to select "thermal printing paper" in the label printing options
  • Check that your printer's scaling settings are set to "none" or "100%"

3. If you're still having issues, you might want to try QZ Tray (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/GKULTMACW6HHP7AD).

Since your printer works correctly with PirateShip, this suggests it's a software/settings issue rather than a hardware problem.

Hope this helps get your labels printing correctly!

Best regards, Michael

I'm not sure about the weird Amazon specific software (I think you're referring to QZ Tray, or the other one they've pushed). But I found that the drivers from Seagull Scientific, which are free to download, give far better results than the stock Zebra drivers, especially with the Amazon labels. I recommend giving them a try.
