What to do when Customer Abuses the Amazon Return Refund Policy?

What to do when the Customer Abuses the Amazon Return/Refund Policy?

Today we received the item returned back. When opened the package we found heavily soiled and dirty item in side. Customer filed the return request 24 days ago! claiming they did not like the item received. ( The item was Brand New when shipped). Today we received this item back..., completely trashed!

When going over the forum I noticed here and there topics regarding the Return Policy Abuse... today I was a victim, yet could not find a topic in the seller forum.

The question is what can the seller do in the case like this? How to file a complain with Amazon regarding the return policy abuse? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

If it was auto-refunded through RFS, file a SAFE-T claim asking for a 50% reimbursement due to the item being heavily soiled and dirty. If it wasn't refunded through RFS, you can withhold a restocking fee when doing your refund. Just keep in mind you may end up with negative feedback. We always have to walk a tight-rope around here between getting screwed over by buyers vs getting negative feedback for holding them accountable for their actions.
