Amazon substituted an image we attached to our listing

We uploaded an image of an expensive Little Golden Book to go with our listing. It was on there but apparently Amazon switched the image to the one on its main page, same book, same ed, but a different number on the cover. The customer complained because they wanted the image number on the main page, which appeared as our image (it's still on our inactive page). We also attached it to our ABE listing, and when I looked there, our own actual image was on ABE.

This is a convoluted story, but why would Amazon substitute a different image when we go to the trouble of uploading an image to go with our listing? And how can we find out if Amazon has done this to other listings?

Hello @Seller_XSqPquQH4FvW1,

Thanks for posting here. As per the Product image requirements page, when images are received from multiple selling partners, Amazon selects the images that best align with the image requirements to provide the best customer experience.

If you believe your image best aligns with the product and should be displayed, contact Seller Support to have them troubleshoot this further. Share your case ID in this thread for additional review. When you contact them, please provide:

  • The troubleshooting steps that you have already taken.
  • The method you use for managing your product and inventory data. Batch ID, in case you used troubleshooting steps with Inventory files.
  • The ASIN for each product.

Regards,

- Manny
