Error editing product title?

Hi,

Has anyone received an error when trying to update their product listing title? I'm getting an error 8541.

I had submitted a ticket, but they told me I needed to delete my ASIN? I'm in the middle of getting vine reviews and don't want to risk losing the listing. Anyone else had success without deleting their ASIN?

Hi @Seller_79GxIJI0k44IO,

Here's a workaround that often works with title editing errors:

  1. Start by having your original title in the input field
  2. Click outside the field - this should clear any error messages
  3. Begin by removing a few words from the end of the old title and adding some words from your new title
  4. Continue adding more of the new title until you get the error message
  5. When you see the error, go back to the last version that worked
  6. Save this temporary title and wait about 15 minutes
  7. Repeat the process (removing more old text and adding more new text)
  8. Continue until you've completely replaced the old title with the new one

This might seem like an unusual process, but it's often effective. Amazon uses predictive validation systems that can trigger errors when catalog data changes are too dramatic, so making gradual changes helps avoid these errors.

Best regards, Michael
