Full Refunds including shipping costs, before I even get the item back
How is this suppose to work, the minute the item moves in the mail on the return trip, amazon gives the full amount including the initial shipping cost (i sell only on FBM), how am i suppose to check for damage or charge restocking fee's when I don't even see the condition the item is in?

In theory, once the item is returned, you may file a Safe-T claim if received in damaged condition.

That's the RFS (Refund First Scan) program that Amazon put into place a year or two ago. It typically happens with returns that are valued at $100 or less. If there is any damage to the item you will have to document it and file a SAFE-T claim to try and recoup up to 50% of the item cost. That is the most you can get. As for shipping charges, you can request to get your outbound shipping charge refunded to you if the buyer selected a buyer faulted return reason, or if they lied about the return reason, you can file a SAFE-T claim to try to recoup the outbound and return shipping charges by providing evidence that the return reason was incorrect. Be sure to take a picture of the box before you open it with the label clearly visible, and a picture of the item(s) as you will need them for the SAFE-T claim process. I find it ridiculous that Amazon refunds the outbound shipping charges to buyers which they are not owed and force us to try and get it back through the SAFE-T claim process, but that's how it is. Also keep in mind that on occasion, seemingly randomly, they will refuse to reimburse the outbound shipping charges, but I find they usually will reimburse them.
Regarding restocking fees, Amazon doesn't allow them any more except in cases of item damage or item not in like new condition.

And you prove that it is received in damaged condition by taking pictures.
Pictures are very useful to overcome the English-to-English language barrier.

So, Walmart is doing this too now. Spoke to a customer service rep for them because they sent us a message that a buyer received a damaged item. We immediately authorized a return. But the buyer didn't want to return the item and called customer service. They refunded her in full, no return necessary. When I asked them why they said they were told to do this, exactly this.

Happened to me, buyer got auto authorized return claiming the item was damaged. Amazon issued a full refund from my account and the return tracking still says carrier picked up the package which actualy means a label was created and the carrier did not pick up the package and it looks like the item will never be returned because it wasnt damaged in the first place and the buyer got away with getting it for free. This is what you call stealing, its the same as walking out of a store without paying for it. Its terrible how crooks take advantage of amazons system at the cost of sellers

Can we get a mod in here to help us out? We have the same issue, and it is out of control. We will be trying the SAFE-T claims now, but we want a guarantee from Amazon to stop giving away our money. I do not want to hear 50/50 if we receive our money back. It's literal theft from our company.

This is becoming a serious issue for all of us, In my opinion no of people wanting to take advantage of this loop hole is increasing, about 30% of return what we are getting are missing parts of the sets we are selling, it means customers are deliberately buying the whole set, pushing return and instead of returning whole set they are keeping parts with them, and getting full refund. Amazon need to relook certain policy related to returns closely

Yep. The customers have learned how to abuse Amazon’s return at first scan policy and use it to steal from the sellers.
It got so bad for us, we removed all items in our catalog that had a price lower than $100, which I hear is the threshold for refund at first scan.
Amazon knows it’s happening and they don’t care.
They say this is their way of being “customer-centric”
I suggest developing other revenue channels as soon as possible.
There is no future in this one.
