Subject: Restricted Product Removal Due to ISED Canada Non-Compliance – Seeking Guidance

Hello everyone,

I recently received a message from Amazon stating that my product, a WiFi extender booster, was removed because it was identified as a signal booster that does not comply with the certification and labeling requirements of Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada (ISED Canada). I was unaware of these specific rules when I initially listed the product.

After receiving the message, I submitted an acknowledgment of the violation and promised not to repeat the issue. I did not have any inventory for this listing, and no products were sold under it. I had only sent a small shipment to the warehouse, but when it was on the way, I immediately canceled the shipment upon receiving the removal notice. I do not possess the required ISED Canada certification or labeling for the product, and I do not plan to reactivate or relist it.

However, I have now received a follow-up message from Amazon requesting that I update the product detail page with an image showing the product’s valid IC Certification Number and Hardware Version Identification Number (HVIN or model number) for review. Since I don’t have this certificate, I’m unsure how to proceed.

What should be my next steps in this situation? I would greatly appreciate any advice or insight from anyone who has dealt with a similar issue. Thank you in advance for your help!

Thank you for the information provided regarding the issues you have been seeing recently. I understand that you identified the issue as the missing warning labels that are required for the ISED. If your product is missing these requirements and you are not interested in disputing the concern, you may be able to take action to acknowledge the violation. This can be done through the violation itself, and cannot be reversed once taken. Additionally, the acknowledgement is a case by case situation so we cannot guarantee that this will be available for each issue you may encounter.

If taking this action does not remove the issue, you will still be expected to provide disputing details to address the concern. If you do not want to take additional action and the acknowledgement path is not available, you will need to wait 180 days for the violation to fall off of the account health page.

During this time, we would recommend reviewing each product you have in your inventory to ensure they are all compliant. If our team identifies additional listings that are not compliant under this policy, they will remove them and you could receive additional impacts to the rating. We ask that you remain aware that if you receive repeated issues for the same policy, you will see greater impacts per violation and may even see account disruptions.

We do encourage you to continue to share any information or details you receive to this thread so we may continue to provide guidance.
