How to access/change owner account when owner is no longer associated with account?

Hello. I am in a bit of a pickle.

The company who employs me purchased the company who I had used to work for, and part of this was the Amazon Seller account, which I handle. The issue was that while I have admin rights, I don't have access to the owner account. Somewhere along the lines the permissions even for non-owner admins seemed to have been limited.

The punchline is that we are changing fulfillment locations and as such need returns to redirect. That needs to go through the owner account. While I have the email and password I do NOT have the ability to get the OTP from him. The phone is his and the email account is deactivated. He isn't always ready for it. Thus I am stuck. Customer support told me that I essentially have no options save for account recovery which doesn't work either.

So I'm hoping somebody else has gone through this and can help. Thank you!

YOU are not in any kind of pickle or even a relish but the company that BOUGHT the account might be.

In general Amazon accounts are NOT able to be bought or sold. You need some type of corporate structure that can actually be transferred and very few of the accounts on here are structured to allow that to happen.

I hope they didn't spend too much cash!

We had a similar experience; however, we are in contact with the previous owner and were able to get the OTP and make changes as needed.
