Amazon refuses to refund customer.

Customer returned item to me on July 26. Return reason was "Bought buy mistake" Item was returned fine, no issues there. I issued the refund on July 26 with the only charge being for the return shipping to me ($5.40). Thought nothing of it as the refund was in pending status. Waited a few days, checking returns again and noticed that the refund had not gone through and was no longer in pending status. Thought maybe I did something wrong, refunded customer again. Checked again a few days later, same thing again, item not refunded. I figured that Amazon would blame me, so I started to keep track of the dates that I had initiated a refund as well as screen shots. Below is the dates of each time I have tried to refund the customer.

Yes, we had something similar. I never learned the details, but generally, it was because the refund could not be credited back to the original method of payment. The back and forth went on for months before the buyer finally got it resolved with Amazon.

this happens all the time usually we find the customers original form of payment cant be refunded.

theres not much you can do.

This also happened to me. I attempted to refund the customer at least 10 times and each time it would go into refund pending then just disappear. I let the customer know that it was happening and I was working with seller support. It lasted for a few days and the customer just submitted an A to Z claim and it impacted my metrics negatively then the customer left a really negative review that I was attempting to scam them. I opened a case for it and attempted to appeal the negative impact of the claim and seller support was not helpful at all. I just accepted it and moved on…

Amazon may take up to 33-days to refund a buyer. That is in their User Agreement and Terms of Service.

Furthermore if the buyer's method of payment can no longer be refund that is NOT your fault.
