Why don't color options show in search?

I have a number of products that have color options, yet when I see my products in search it doesn't indicate that there are other colors to choose from. I see competitor products with circles under the product image indicating there are other colors but not on my products. Would anyone know why the other color choices for my products don't show up in search?
