Changing Store Display Name Name Unavailable

I am attempting to change our store name to my company's copyrighted brand. I cannot due to the display name being unavailable. We believe this is due to us having an Amazon store YEARS ago that we no longer have access to.

I created a case and they wanted a more thorough explaination. I responded with a chat that took 40 minutes for the representative to research and explain the exact scenario I explained in my original case. Then I was told they could not assist, I asked who I could reach out to and I was told they were the only ones who could assist and closed the chat.

I am posting this bc I read on other forum posts that doing this is the best way to get results.

Is anyone else having these issues? Could a mod respond?
