Mattress Return Shipping Costs

Hi there,

We're interested in selling a product that is made from memory foam which expands once opened.

Original packaging of the item is 24 x 18 x 14 inches but once a customer wants to return it, it will be 5 x 5 feet.

Item will never fit back into the original box, so wondering what could end up being the return charges for me (seller) in this case? Especially if a customer sends it back in a really big box.

Because I purchased a memory foam mattress once and Amazon sent a company called Pilot to pick up the item and told me to enter 150 lbs for the weight. And I remember that situation, and this might end up being similar.

How much extra cost will be involved to me as the seller when they have a 3rd party pick up the return? Also, does anyone know what happens if an item gets returned over the maximum limit set by UPS?

Couldn't really get a clear answer from seller support so hoping one of you might have some direct experience/knowledge of how this could go in a worst case scenario.

Thanks in advance!

There are several factors that determine the FBA fees associated with a given product. I recommend using the Fee Preview to get a better understanding of the fees associated with your inventory. This tool enables you to search for, view, and understand the estimated fulfillment fees for products in your inventory. The Fee Preview is only an estimate and actual costs may vary.
