"Item arrived too late" 3 days ealier than delivery window actually!

Amazon, Please Check Delivery Date on "Item Arrived Late" Claims!

A customer just summited a Return Request with the reason code "Item arrived too late."

However, it actually arrived 3 days earlier than the estimated delivery window.

Amazon, could we implement a simple check for this specific reason code? It would greatly assist sellers like me in handling return requests more efficiently.

Now, should I accept the return request (clearly a loss) and refund the customer?

BTW, I've gone through some similar posts where sellers reported the same scenario. It is frustrating that Amazon has nothing regulating customers exploiting loopholes. I understand that I am expecting a damaged return. Sigh.

I believe a fair evaluation process is essential for both sellers and customers. There is a lot you can do Amazon to help sellers uphold the justice.

It's not "arrived too late past estimated delivery date", it's "arrived too late for customer". It is a valid return reason, they probably expected it to arrive at the beginning of the delivery estimate. They may have had to go purchase the product locally instead.

We accept the returns and have the customer pay the shipping back and charge a restocking fee as this is a "customer decided return" and there is no defect with the item.

We dock up to 20% off the refund cost. Usually 10% is enough to cover the shipping for our items, but it's different for everyone.

Hello @Seller_sDpmZ4w4PDYa1

I am sorry to hear about the buyer's claim that the order arrived too late when it was delivered well before the minimum delivery date. Yes, you may file a SAFE-T claim.

If you need more help, please post back here.

Thanks, Susan

The problem is two fold. Customers are forced to put a return reason when they want to return something. One of the choises is "item arrived too late" another is "not as desrcribed on the website" so Amazon is making customers select a choice that is not true/ lie. The could select "no longer needed " but then the customer pays return shipping, so Amazon incents them to lie. If you tell that to support they cant comprehend that.

Amazon then penalizes the seller and sometimes flags the listing for the lie. So Amazon incents the customer to lie then penalizes the seller for the lie.

If we win the Safe-T claim because the buyer is clearly wrong, and the buyer then leaves negative feedback - despite being obviously wrong - will Amazon remove it?
