And yet another fraudulent return....

Shipped a working, tested motherboard to a buyer back in December. 3 weeks after it arrives, I get a return "doesn't work". I ask for clarification, and offer a few tips that may have been overlooked. Silence.... Almost a month after that it suddenly shows up at my door, first UPS scan on the package was the arrived in town, out for delivery.

Socket is completely mangled. The mark I put on all the boards I ship out to confirm that I worked on the board is missing. Stuff like this just keeps happening. Another guy just swapped out a network extender last month.

The ethics of people nowadays. The return address has a persons name on it. Its not like they are ripping off Amazon. Would this guy just steal his neighbors cordless drill if he had the opportunity?

Can you charge a restocking fee (100% materially different) or was it refunded on first scan? 50% chance the serial number is different than the unit you shipped.

Sadly, unfortunately I think anymore a lot of people would steal their neighbor's cordless drill if given the opportunity. Likely because they falsely feel entitled to it.

I've seen some bent pins, but wow this one is a beauty. I've been in this same situation many times. Unfortunately Amazon will ask for pictures of the sent motherboard serial number as well as the returned one for the safe-t claim

We constantly get return requests with all kinds of BS reasons for the returns, only to have the customers return a $65 counterfeit Chinese version of the $300 authentic item we sold/shipped the customer.

Thankfully we don't do FBA so we have the Reseller right to deny any refund on those counterfeit returns however we get screwed anyway given we have to pay for the return shipping label.

2 years ago we had this happen once. Last year, 8 times. So far this year, just one month in, it's occurred twice.

Amazon has taken away the ability for Resellers to file Fraud cases against Amazon Customers so there aren't any penalties for these customers to try and commit fraud in this manner.

I've been debating about printing off a bunch of inserts with a picture of my wife and I smiling holding a generic brown box with a "thanks for your order" underneth it. Might help with the "guilt trip" of a dishonest return seeing they are hurting an average person just trying to make a living.

Yes, these people would. They don't care. Speaks volumes about our society and where it's come to especially when mega corps encourage bad behavior.

" Would this guy just steal his neighbors cordless drill if he had the opportunity?"

Probably, yes.

From what I see, the integrity of the average American buyer making a return on Amazon is worth less than $5.

Easily 80% of the returns I get involve people that would rather lie & steal than take responsibility for their own actions.
