Account deactivated due to acquired relation to a deactivated account of a friend.
Hello Seller Central Community,
I'm in urgent need of advice and assistance. After my primeway account deactivation and two unsuccessful appeals, I'm at a loss not knowing what to do next.
I have been in compliance with Amazon's requirements and have had multiple discussions with Amazon health team but my account remains deactivated.
Some days to Xmas, a family friend who I never knew has a deactivated Amazon seller account, visited us and as a family to family xmas gifting gesture, I offered my laptop and credit Card to her so she could buy her family a xmas gift on my credit card on her own amazon buying account. She did just that and logged off.
Two days later my seller account was deactivated stating I have another account....At first I didn't recognize the other account but later realized it belong to the visited family friend who used my details and laptop. I have followed all Amazon asked for including submitting an affidavit that the account is known but doesnt belong to us but Amazon kept rejecting saying I need to provide a contract termination agreement etc. We were never in business with this account.
My last correspondence state " it was rejected due to information that are not matching to what we have on record. During investigation, it was uncovered that there are other information that was shared on both account. In this case, I would highly suggest to investigate further to properly identify what information was shared on the account."
I need help from this community on what else could have been shared by someone else using the computer system I use to run my seller central account or If anyone has navigated through a similar situation or has insights into the appeal process that I might be overlooking
Thank you in advance for your help.

Whew, no good deed goes unpunished. This is unfortunate.
It would be helpful to see exactly what you wrote to Amazon and what you presented as far a documentation. It's difficult to offer advice when all we have is a partial communication from Amazon.

Hi @Seller_NDxkyCx6w0bsn,
Thank you for your post. I understand you are dealing with an ongoing related accounts issue. In this scenario, we have found shared information between you and the account to which you are linked. This does not mean that you necessarily own the other account, but rather there is a link between the two of them. The other account has been deactivated, and due to the shared information between the two accounts, your account has also been deactivated.
In your description of the incident, you share two point of contact between these two accounts, the credit card that was used to make the purchase and the shared IP address being used when your friend logged in. I understand the actions you have taken here, but did you provide an written explanation in your submission where you describe exactly what took place? You will also need to include further information about how you will keep this issue from happening in the future along with the action you took (and shared in your appeal) to correct the issue.
This may be construed as a third point of contact. Have you shared any information about this transaction within your appeal regarding this matter? Additionally, when did these event take place in relation to the deactivation of both of these accounts? This is also information you will most likely need to share within your appeal.
You would not need to delete past order information as this not preclude an ongoing point of contact with your friend's account, unless they have continued to order from your account. This could lead to other account problems as well, and should be avoided.
When crafting your next appeal, you will want to explore to see if any other other points of contact exist that need to be addressed. With this in mind, please consider the following:
- Have you had any third party assisting you with the account?
- Who all has user permissions within the account (including your friend)?
- If applicable, what is your relationship to these people?
- Do any of these other individuals (if applicable) have their own selling accounts? Examples could be family members, current or former employees, or third party entities.
- If so, what information could have been shared between the accounts?
- If applicable, do these individuals still have access to your account specifically?
- What devices have been used to access the account?
- What is the timeline of contact with the other account?
- How can you show there is no ongoing contact with your friend's account?
Once you have determined the answers to these questions, you will then want to create and submit a plan of action that details the results of your investigation, where, when, and what kind of information was shared between the two accounts, and how this contact will no longer take place in the future. You will want to re-submit the information you have already shared and any updates you have as a result of your deeper investigation into this matter.
The other option you have would be for your friend to get her account reinstated. If that account is reactivated, you would then be able to share that information in an appeal from your account. Once the related account reactivation is confirmed, your account may then be reactivated.
Please feel free to reach out with any further questions or account updates, and we will assist you as best we can.
Regards,
Troy
