Is it a violation if I send a Amazon gift card to customer as a compensation?

Hi everyone,

A VINE reviewer reached out saying the product she received is defective but the item she claimed is currently out of stock. I can't issue a refund because it's a VINE order. Does it violate Amazon's policy if I offer her an Amazon gift card?

Any insight is highly appreciated!

First of all, thank you for working to make the issue right with the customer. We love to see that!

Second, I would err on the side of caution here, as @Seller_Hi7wbO2Kbo6bl suggests. It is strictly prohibited to offer buyers any sort of compensation in exchange for reviews. While you are not necessarily requesting a change in the review, I would suggest offering to send them a replacement once you have the item back in stock.
