Solution for "Merchant SKU already exists. Merchant SKUs cannot be reused"
I was trying to send a recently created product to Amazon FBA and I got this error message " Merchant SKU already exists. Merchant SKUs cannot be reused"
I tried contacting Amazon, and I realized they have no idea what's going on. I was on hold for 45 minutes on the call—yes, 45 minutes!!.. and no solution. It's a clear technical error, and the customer service agents have no idea how to solve it. I called multiple times, and the same result.
So I deleted the listing and made it again.. same issue.. Deleted it again and i created the offer again and now it magically works.
Did anyone else faced this issue? Did they solve it ?

It's long been the case that you cannot reuse a sku.
Although it's been made more difficult recently by the "upgraded" "Add A Product" page, which will not stop you if you accidentally try to reuse a sku; but the result will be stranded inventory and an inability to fix anything with either the original product or the new one.
If you are sending additional inventory of an item, you can use "Replenish Inventory"*. But if you need to create a new listing (perhaps for tracking purposes), simply create a new SKU and don't try to reuse an old one.
*at least, that's the way it's supposed to work; would not surprise me if Amazon has messed that up as well.

I use a file uploads to delete skus completely from the platform... it's the only way.
When you do it from your inventory page, bits of that listing will still remain in Amazon's catalog.

Good Afternoon @Seller_tprfsuIBllIEQ,
It looks like you were able to get some support from other folks here on the forums about the error message you were getting that said: "Merchant SKU already exists. Merchant SKUs cannot be reused".
If any of their replies helped you, feel free to mark it as “Most Helpful reply” using the 3 dots in the corner of their post. This helps other sellers find the answer to your question at the top of the post just in case they find themselves in a similar situation.
As @Seller_Sram36TnVt73c mentioned if you would like to use the SKU again, you should completely deleted and relist. My colleague @Glenn_Amazon wrote an article of why it's an important process and how to do it right -->HERE< --
I am glad you were able to get the issue resolved. Thank you for stopping by the forums and sharing your story. Hope you have a wonderful weekend and take care.
Sincerely, Cooper_Amazon

hi there,
What we do for FBA SKUs is we add "FBA_" preceding our internal SKU. Same with mewrchant Fulfilled "MFN_" skus. or Seller Fulfilled Prime, "SFP_"
so if you have an internal SKU called "SKU123456"
MFN SKU would be MFN_SKU123456
FBA SKU would be FBA_SKU123456
SFP SKU would be SFP_SKU123456
This way anything after the "_" is the same SKU to us, the only differentiation is who is fulfilling it.
hope this helps
