Cannot receive notification link - deposit method

I have been trying to add a new deposit method to my account for weeks. Whenever I go to "Deposit Methods" and "Add new deposit method" , it ask for an approval via notification to my mobile number. However i am not receiving any notification link for it, even though I can get OTP for logging in just fine.

I have checked my phone for any blocked messages and talked to my mobile carrier too, but it doesn't resolve this matter.

The messages are being sent to the contact phone number in your account settings. If the first message fails, you have to wait at least a minute to request a second.

Thank you for reaching out. My apologies on the frustration this has caused. Are you having issues with two-factor authentication (2FA) which is a requirement for all logins? This additional step helps protect your account by making it more difficult for unauthorized users to gain access.

If that is not the case, I will need you to submit a seller support case. Please share the case ID with me in this thread.

I was having this same issue recently. I figured out why I was having an issue after opening a ticket and being put in contact with the verification team. I had opened my account a few years ago to resell arbitrage items on amazon. I ended up closing my account to stop the $40/month fee from being charged to my bank account. I used the same account to try to restart selling on amazon, this time with my own product.

Due to my account having been closed before, I was no longer allowed to use the account to sell anything on amazon. This prevented my from being able to set a deposit account triggering the "For your security, approve the notification sent to: Mobile number" screen to pop up. Due to the account being blocked from sales, you cannot receive the notification.

So, in short, if you have closed the account and reopened it, you can access your account, but can't use it to sell anything.

I was told by the Amazon Verification team that I would need to open a new seller account and sign a new user agreement.

Upon starting a new account, I have had no issues with receiving any notifications or with setting a deposit method.

I know this is probably not the answer you wanted, but this was the solution I was given by Amazon.
