Whose Phone Number is Amazon Providing in the "Ship To" Portion of an order? It does not appear to be a customers phone.
Simply researching something here. The phone numbers that seem to be listed along with the customers "Ship To" address on an order seem to have an extension number and do not appear to be a customers actual phone number. Is Amazon providing a scrambled customer phone number and simply recycling phone numbers every 3 months or something?

Amazon routes a contact number for the customer through their system for carrier use only. The phone number is only active while the shipment is in transit.
