Subject: Dissatisfaction and Concerns Regarding Amazon Seller Central/FBA System & Policies
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction and growing concerns regarding several aspects of the Amazon Seller Central/Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) system. As a long-time seller on your platform, I have witnessed an alarming trend of policies and fees that are increasingly burdensome and detrimental to small businesses like mine. Regrettably, these issues have led us to seriously consider parting ways with Amazon altogether.
Increasing Fees: The continual rise in fees imposed by Amazon is becoming unsustainable for small businesses. The recent hikes in referral fees, subscription fees, and other charges are eating into our profit margins and making it exceedingly difficult to remain competitive.
Huge Storage Fees: The exorbitant charges for storage within Amazon's fulfillment centers are unreasonable, especially considering the lack of control we have over inventory management. These fees often accumulate unexpectedly, further squeezing our already tight budgets.
New Inventory Placement Fees: The introduction of additional fees for inventory placement, particularly for non-standard items, adds another layer of financial strain. It feels like a punitive measure rather than a service enhancement for sellers.
New Low Inventory Fee: The imposition of penalties for maintaining low inventory levels penalizes sellers for circumstances often beyond their control, such as fluctuations in demand or supply chain disruptions. This fee structure unfairly penalizes small businesses that may not have the resources to maintain high stock levels at all times.
Issues with Amazon's Return Policy and Abusive Customers: Perhaps most concerning is the growing prevalence of abusive practices by Amazon customers, facilitated by the platform's lenient return policy. The ease with which buyers can purchase, use, and then return items for frivolous reasons or even obtain free replacements without returning the original merchandise is devastating to our bottom line. These repeated instances of misuse not only result in financial losses but also damage our trust in the platform as a viable sales channel.
Collectively, these issues paint a troubling picture of an ecosystem that is increasingly hostile to small and medium-sized sellers. While Amazon's dominance in e-commerce is undeniable, the current trajectory risks alienating the very sellers who helped build the platform's success.
As a valued partner, I urge Amazon to reconsider its policies and fee structures to better support the diverse community of sellers who contribute to its marketplace. Without meaningful changes, many sellers like myself may have no choice but to explore alternative platforms or pursue independent sales channels.
Thank you for your attention to these pressing concerns. I hope for a constructive dialogue and positive changes that will benefit both sellers and Amazon in the long run.

As a long time seller you DO realize this is a FORUM and not Amazon so only other sellers are normally here to see questions and cries for help, don't you?
The occasional MOD does stop by to monitor things and maybe one will see this.
As to the "As a valued partner," you need to stop drinking the Kool-Aid - it really IS bad for you.
Feel free to vent but realize that you are lost in the wilderness here and Amazon will do NOTHING to fix the site since it is a money cow.
For every ten sellers that actually do leave the site (and there are a lot that do that) more than 1000 newbie rookies drop in and most of them are OFFSHORE selling the same generic junk that you can get cheaper on Temu.
Amazon may not sink into the morass they have created but they are headed toward the ship junkyard where they will rust away.
