Our account was blocked due to violate Multiple Account policy

Hello,

We had two marketplaces (amazon.com, amazon.ca) blocked due to Multiple Account policy. We received the following messages from amazon:

Why is this happening?

1.We found that your current selling account is related to a different selling account named FUN2BEMUM in IT marketplace and created in Jan 2016 that violated our Multiple Account policy and was therefore deactivated. As a result, you may no longer use the current selling account to sell on Amazon.ca.

2.You have been found to be related to another account beginning with ARYAN LIAQUAT/SIRAJ & SON'S.We received your submission but do not have enough information to reactivate your account at this time.To reactivate your account, you first need to successfully appeal all policy violations on any and all other selling accounts that are enforced by submitting appeals for each enforcement. Please follow the instructions in the communication received for that account or by signing into your Seller Central account.

We've never been associated with ARYAN LIAQUAT/SIRAJ & SON'S or been in IT marketplace with a separate account. We had a phone call with Amazon recently and they suggested we could create a duplicate account while confirmation step. We had our account set up in 2016.

Can anyone suggest what type of documentation we can provide to reactivate our accounts? I've made an example of my POA:

Root cause:

Our account was deactivated as we have been found to be related to another account beginning with ARYAN LIAQUAT/SIRAJ & SON'S on amazon.ca.

Our current selling account was also found related to a different selling account named FUN2BEMUM in IT marketplace and created in Jan 2016.

Identify/corrective step:

We’ve checked whether there were any suspicious user permissions on IT marketplace or CA marketplace that we provided. Upon checking, we haven’t identified any users named ARYAN LIAQUAT/SIRAJ & SON'S on amazon.ca or any other marketplaces.

We have found our amazon.it account was deactivated due to multiple account policy. We don’t remember setting up a separate account for IT marketplace but remember we had to set up a separate account for European markets. If this caused the problem, we confirm both accounts EU and U.S and CA belong to us.

Preventative:

We’ve checked whether two-way verification works on all our platforms and we also changed our password to make sure our account is safe and no one will have access to it in the future.

If it solves the problem, we would like to cancel our IT account (if it doesn’t affect our other European marketplaces). We’ve also read the following tutorials not to violate multiple account policy:

Amazon’s Multiple Selling Accounts Policies

How to address Amazon’s Multiple Account Policy Violations

I’m also attaching my Passport copy, utility bill (address confirmation)

CAN YOU PLEASE HAVE A LOOK AT IT AND LET ME KNOW IF IT'S OK?

You will need to investigate and try to figure out how the link may have happened, Amazon is very good at linking accounts and won't accept an appeal saying you do not know this other account.

Have you ever used a Virtual Assistant (VA) or Account Manager? Have you given anyone your Amazon login credentials to help set up or manage your account?

Do you work from home or in an office where multiple people use the same private WI-FI network and they may have their own Seller Account?

Have you ever had a business partner or anyone who works for you who may have access to another account or have shared computers with?

Any family members, relatives, or friends that may have applied for or who have a Seller Account and may have logged into it using your computer or Wifi?

Ever used someone else’s Amazon.com Customer Account to make purchases, or someone used yours, and your credit card and address were used?

This is not an exhaustive list but will give you an idea of things to consider.

I recommend using this format for your appeal:

Appeal

  • Root Cause: Explain why or how your account was deactivated and linked to another Seller Account.
  • Identify: Pinpoint or analyze what you have done to verify none of your information has been used in relation to another account and what you have done to correct it.
  • Preventative: What steps or safety measures have you taken to ensure and prevent this issue from happening again?

Keep it simple; the appeal does not need to be long but it must be detailed. Break it into 3 parts (Root, Identify, Prevent), and consider using bullet points for easy reading.

Supporting documents

Every appeal needs to be submitted with supporting verification documents to prove identity;

  • Gov ID or Passport
  • Utility bill
  • Business License (if applicable)

Hello @FUN2BEMUM_,

Thank you for posting your concerns with a multiple account policy violation.

We had two marketplaces (amazon.com, amazon.ca) blocked due to Multiple Account policy. We received the following messages from amazon:

Based off this information it would appear that you may have a global selling account, as you were advised by your support call.

Can anyone suggest what type of documentation we can provide to reactivate our accounts? I've made an example of my POA:

A plan of action cannot show proof that you’re not associated to another store, thus they are not accepted by themselves in this situation. An explanation of the connection or association can be provided in accompaniment of supporting documentation and evidence. With that being said, if you are the owner of these accounts, you will be required to ensure they have been reinstated prior to this stores eligibility to be reactivated.

If you are not the owner, but were associated to another store, you will need to show how and why you were associated to this other store or company. This can include documentation such as invoices, contracts, termination agreements, bill of sale, transfer of ownership.

The goal is to show proof that there is be a reason we identified an association but the supporting evidence provided shows you’re not the account owner and had an indirect association to the other party.

I would also suggest reviewing the multiple account policy page provided by @Medic.

Do you think it could have been the case? Does Amazon let adding a different brand name if you create a listing on a different platform? If this is the case, I have a root cause of the problem.

Using different Brand names on an Account or various Marketplaces would not cause the relation issue.

Hello @FUN2BEMUM_,

Thank you for providing this updated information.

I lined the messages chronologically. Does it mean I created two accounts on amazon.co.uk and violated multiply account policy?
Europe and U.S can have separate accounts?

As you’ve put everything together chronologically, it does appear that you do have another account. Yes, you can have a US and a European account, the violation of the multiple account policy comes in when there is not a business need, or if one of the associated stores you own are deactivated, since you would then be associated to a deactivated store..

You will need to sign into the associated account you identified and understand the reason for its deactivation, as you will be required to ensure it’s in an active state prior to your current account is eligible for reactivation.

3. Welcome to Selling on Amazon.com 'mum2befashion' Feb 6 2016.
The notice you received does not mention 'mum2befashion'
You need to figure out how Amazon has linked you with ARYAN LIAQUAT/SIRAJ & SON'S.

Here @Medic a few times that the store mum2befashion was not in your original notice and you should focus on understanding the association to the other accounts that were mentioned. Did you identify a reason for that connection?

Every appeal needs to be submitted with supporting verification documents to prove identity;

  • Gov ID or Passport
  • Utility bill
  • Business License (if applicable)

Review → Address a Multiple Account Policy Violation

Hello @FUN2BEMUM_,

Thank you for posting your concerns with a multiple account policy violation.

We had two marketplaces (amazon.com, amazon.ca) blocked due to Multiple Account policy. We received the following messages from amazon:

Review → Address a Multiple Account Policy Violation

I would also suggest reviewing the multiple account policy page provided by @Medic.

Do you think it could have been the case? Does Amazon let adding a different brand name if you create a listing on a different platform? If this is the case, I have a root cause of the problem.

Using different Brand names on an Account or various Marketplaces would not cause the relation issue.

I forgot we initially set up the account on amazon.com with MUM2BEFASHION name, it was in 2016. In 2017, we started using FUN2BEMUM name

The notice you received states you opened the FUN2BEMUM in 20016, there is no mention of the MUM2BEFASHION Account so if that was originally the name on the Account, it was changed successfully and would not be the reason. ↓↓↓

Your FUN2BEMUM in IT marketplace received the violation so it would affect all your other FUN2BEMUM Marketplaces.

Have you checked under your Italy Marketplace > Performance Notifications, did you receive an IP Violation or any other type of violation that you failed to address?

Upon checking, we haven’t identified any users named ARYAN LIAQUAT/SIRAJ & SON'S on amazon.ca or any other marketplaces.

Telling Amazon that you don't know or recognize ARYAN LIAQUAT/SIRAJ & SON'S or simply telling them that you are not associated with this Account will not work in getting your account reinstated.

You will need to figure out how Amazon has linked you with ARYAN LIAQUAT/SIRAJ & SON'S. Does the name sound familiar, do you recognize it, or do you know who this account may belong to?
