GTIN/ASIN do not match issues (don't have GS1 certificate)

Hey guys,

I'm looking for some assistance on a GTIN/ASIN matching issue.

Long story short, I've been selling this product for 7+ years using a UPC that was provided to me by my manufacturer when I first created the product (at the time, I had no idea what a UPC even was, I just assumed my manufacturer took care of it). Fast forward to this year and it looks like now the GS1 certificate and UPC are being used by a different brand (not really sure how this happened but I don't have the GS1 certificate so I'm out of luck here) so I'm hit with the GTIN/ASIN matching issue and my product was delisted.

Here's my question:

It sounds like I can circumvent this issue by just recreating the listing with a new UPC (this is less than ideal because I would lose all of my reviews, etc.), but can I just open up a case from Amazon support and request a UPC exemption for this product? Would something like that be reasonable to try?

I don't have the GS1 certificate, so that one isn't an option, but I am the brand owner, and it's my own product (no one else sells it).

If someone has another solution that would work, I'm all ears! Thank you.

I'm sorry you are having trouble with your products that have incorrect UPCs. In general if you have a product that was associated with what has been determined to be an invalid UPC you will need to make a new listing for the product with an appropriate Valid UPC. The issue in this case is the invalid UPC is still associated with the product and it cannot be converted to a UPC exemption. I'm sorry for any difficulties this creates.
