If I run a lightning deal before I apply a coupon, is the base price for my coupon the original price or the price of the lightning deal?

If I run a lightning deal before I apply a coupon, is the base price for my coupon the original price or the price of the lightning deal? The coupon must be 5-50% lower than the price of the product in the last 90 days but if I run a lightning deal in the past 90 days, does my coupon discount need to be even lower now? Won't this result in the price decreasing more and more in the long run?

Hi @Seller_t6YHap1Ug4yoT,

Thanks for for bringing this to the forums, and welcome!

Jumping in to drop a few resources that address your specific questions around creating deals and coupons:

Lets start with deals, if you are a professional seller your ASINs might be eligible to participate in deals. You mentioned one of them but there are 2 type of deals: Lightning Deals and Best Deals, however these deals can not combine or stack with any other type of promotion and are suggested to you by the system in Seller Central.

Promotions and Coupons on the other hand you have a bit more control as long as the listings qualifies. More specifically to answer your Stacked Promotions question: For every Coupon and Percentage Off or Buy One Get One promotion created through Seller Central, you are expected to select if you want both the Coupon and Percentage Off or Buy One Get One promotions (if available) to stack or not stack. Based on your questions, either one or both of the Coupons and Percentage Off or Buy One Get One promotions will apply at checkout.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best,

Indy
