MCF order taking a VERY LONG TIME to ship (20-24 days)

We recently placed an MCF order on a product we had sent to an Amazon MCF and was AVAILABLE. We initially did not notice it was going to take very long to ship. Today the order was in Planning/Processing status, and we noticed this:

Displayable Order date : Saturday, October 5, 2024

Estimated ship date : Friday, October 25, 2024

Latest delivery date : Tuesday, October 29, 2024

We opened a case and a CHAT with a CSR. The CSR took over 30 minutes to "investigate" and came back with this answer:

"The MCF order unit is in transshipping (for both In Transit or Reserve) to a new fulfillment center from another fulfillment center; the order will ship when it arrives at that fulfillment center, and that process cannot be expedited."

This is ridiculous for 3 reasons:

1. If instead of us the Seller placing an MCF order, a regular Amazon Customer with Prime membership had placed the order, he/she would have received the order in 2 days.

2. If a Seller places an MCF order, it is logical for the Seller to expect shipping within 24-48 hours, not 20-24 days.

3. Even if the product is being trans-shipped from one FC to another, to ship a product via truck inside the U.S. would take at most a week. Maybe another day to receive and ship. That's 8 days, not 20-24 days.

We guess we are not the only ones experiencing this. It's a real shame that Amazon is doing this to Sellers. Maybe it's time to rethink using Amazon FBA as a repository to ship products sold outside Amazon.
