Hello fellow sellers,

I wanted to bring up a major issue with Amazon’s dimensional weight pricing and apparel packaging requirements, and I’d love to hear your thoughts.

As many of you know, Amazon requires all poly bags larger than 5” x 5” to have air holes for suffocation prevention. This makes sense for safety, but it directly contradicts Amazon’s dimensional weight pricing because:

1️⃣ Air in the poly bags causes Amazon to record inflated dimensions.

2️⃣ Amazon uses those incorrect, inflated dimensions to calculate higher FBA fees.

3️⃣ Sellers have no way to remove the air because vacuum-sealing is not allowed due to Amazon's own policy.

4️⃣ In reality, apparel in poly bags compresses during shipping, meaning the dimensional weight Amazon charges us for is completely inaccurate!

📌 This means sellers are being unfairly charged extra fees due to Amazon’s own policies.

I have reached out to Amazon Seller Support about this issue, but I believe it needs wider visibility so that it can be properly escalated and addressed.

Have you noticed Amazon recording larger dimensions than your product actually has?

Do you think Amazon should adjust how they calculate dimensional weight for apparel in poly bags?

🔥 This is an urgent issue that needs to be addressed. If enough sellers speak up, we may be able to push Amazon to review their policy and correct this unfair practice.
