Amazon set my account to inactive-requesting an updated card. I updated my card but my account is still inactive. I received an email stating to follow the link for directions. I followed the link but there was not any information there to update my account.

I have the same issue. I updated my credit card info and received email from amazon that charge went through, but account is still inactive.

These are the steps I did to get my account active again. I don't know if it was just coincidental but it's worth a try because it worked immediately for me.
1. Use mobile phone (not desktop) and chrome browser to login to the account.
2. Put all affected inactive shops in vacation mode. Click "Continue" on the Inactive Account message (*see image).
3. Update credit card information for all inactive shops that were affected originally.
4. Go back to settings take your affected shops out of vacation mode.
This process worked for me. It was not working via computer browser's, only on mobile phone using chrome browser.
