Lost Package USPS

Bought a USPS first class / ground advantage shipping label for an order. The package was checked in on the day it was supposed to but it appears it is lost now. I opened a missing mail claim on the USPS website but that doesn't seem to have helped either.

In this situation, will Amazon refund the buyer since I bought the label through Amazon buy shipping? Or?

In theory, if the buyer opens an A to Z claim for non-receipt, Amazon should cover it without impact to your metrics.

This assumes the package received an acceptance scan within the specified time frame for shipping.

One thing that I've found often works is to check the tracking of the item; if you see that it is "stuck" somewhere, request text updates.

It's amazing the number of times I've done this, and the package starts moving within a few hours.

If it never arrives, then have the customer file A-Z for "Item Not Received". Point out that they have to wait (I think it's 3 days, but might be 2) until after the latest delivery date or the date that it is marked as "Delivered" before being able to file; also must wait 48 hours after contacting the seller.
