🛑SUSPICIOUS TEMPARING ON RETURNED PACKAGE🛑
Recently, I’ve been receiving returned packages showing suspicious signs of tampering—each one has been cut open, all items inside individually checked, then repacked and sealed using Amazon-branded tape and seals. This consistent pattern suggests the packages may be undergoing an internal inspection process, possibly by Amazon’s warehouse or returns team, but the method and condition in which they are returned raise concerns about potential mishandling, unauthorized access, or a breakdown in standard return protocols. Have any of you ever faced such an issue ever or in recent times?

you are absolutely right, I have also received similar returns. Yours is well packed sir, but mine came with torn and empty packaging. Sometimes the return team does all this. And there is no cure for this.

It happened some times like partially opened parcel received. But the major issue is products are not packaging properly, so the products are getting too damaged.

We are also receing all return packets in tempered condition. In multiple unit packets our 1 or 2 units stolen by tempering the packet. They check each and every packet and whatever they like and they keep it with them and replace our product with used and dirty product. Our claims are also rejected with reason of EXCEED LIMIT OF CLAIMS.
There is nobody to listen about this scam...

Yes no control of Amazon seeing from the last 10 years wrong return accepted by Amazon person but still Amazon authorities failed to resolve this issue. I strongly recommended amazon to take example of Myntra return policies their executive never accept any wrong return and simply said to customer if you have any issue talk to customer care.

We are currently facing a recurring issue with tampered packages, and it's concerning that there has been no official notification from Amazon regarding the new practice of taping parcels. Upon confirmation with Seller Support, we were informed that if Amazon is delivering in sealed packets, no Prime tape or yellow Amazon sticker would be included.
This raises a serious question—who is responsible for this taping and apparent tampering?
- Sellers? Absolutely not, as we are the ones affected and have no role in packing once the product is handed over.
- Customers? Again, highly unlikely. It is Amazon’s responsibility to ensure proper picking, packing, and secure delivery.
This clearly points to a lapse in the logistics process on Amazon’s end.
Initially, we thought this was an isolated case, but this forum has revealed that many sellers are experiencing the same issue. It seems to be a widespread problem that needs immediate attention.
Upon further review, we’ve noticed a pattern: most of our SAFE-T claims over the last two months are related to these types of tampered packages—and always involving items with suspicious or mismatched packaging. The returned items are often absurdly unrelated, such as empty plastic boxes, sharpeners, or pencil cases. We are a home decor brand, and these replacements are completely irrelevant and clearly fraudulent.
What’s even more disheartening is that the SAFE-T claim resolutions are not in our favor, despite clear evidence of tampering and item mismatch.
We strongly urge Amazon to:
- Investigate this issue at the logistics level.
- Improve packaging integrity checks and ensure accountability in the fulfillment chain.
- Review and revise the SAFE-T claim process for such cases to ensure fair treatment for sellers.
We, as sellers, rely on Amazon to uphold trust and transparency in its operations. This issue is eroding that trust and affecting our business significantly.
It’s time to raise our voices and ensure this concern is addressed at the highest level.
