Constant UPS Carrier Delays With Amazon Related Shipments

So for the past couple of months a lot of my returns have experienced carrier delays when checking the UPS tracking numbers. I rarely use UPS to ship out, but even then many of these shipments have had carrier delays and it's always something about a sorting issue or weren't able to dispatch the trailer on time. Has anyone else experienced this?

I shipped something 3 Day last Tuesday to somewhere where Ground would have usually taken 3 days, but customer ordered Expedited, and it was supposed to arrive last Friday, but then experienced a carrier delay and ended up getting delivered today, while I was getting a shipment from the other side of the country (Not Amazon related) and they shipped it UPS Mail Innovations last Tuesday and I got in on Saturday. Is there any recourse for the delayed 3 Day shipment or that only applies to Next Day services?
