New Amazon listing rating display on search result page removed review count on mobile app

The star ratings from beauty and health got removed, and even worse no review count showed on mobile app, a total disaster for ASINs being Amazon for years. Now people just compare the rating, which could have very few reviews. And as a general amazon customer, this is not convenient at all, have to click a lot to fix it.

You're absolutely right, the removal of star ratings on Amazon's search results is quite alarming...

Here's my thoughts:

Customer Experience: This change seems counterintuitive. Customers are used to star ratings to make quick decisions, and this new setup just complicates things. Clicking through to see the rating and then backing out if it doesn't meet expectations is frustrating and time-consuming.

Potential for Manipulation: The change could open doors for bad sellers to create duplicate listings with misleading 5-star ratings. Imagine clicking on a 5-star product and finding just one review! That's confusing and diminishes trust.

Impact on Sellers: For dedicated partners like you who've worked tirelessly for almost 10 years to organically grow star ratings, this abrupt change feels unfair. It's impacting not only ROAS but also CTR and other essential metrics.

Is it Just a Test?: Given the apparent downsides, I'm leaning towards the idea that this is indeed a test. Amazon has a history of trying out new features, and this might be one of them. It doesn't make sense for customers or sellers, so it's hard to believe it will be a permanent change.

I hope @Seller_mZ4TWhRx3j6Ha reconsiders this move and restores the familiar star ratings that have been more beneficial to both buyers and sellers like yourself than this current approach. If it is a test, let's hope the feedback leads to a swift reversal of the change.

Exactly!!! Just started a new discussion before I saw this thread. This is so not fair. My 5000+ rating products look no different that my competitors' 1+ reviewed products on the search page. I just hope this is a problem and amazon fixes it soon. I came here to the forum just to see what everyone was saying, and unfortunately no one else is talking about this. Thought this would be the most active thread.

Hi Everyone,

I realize this thread is a couple of weeks old, but I just wanted to drop in and see if you are still seeing star ratings showing up in that new format? I don't personally see it on mobile or desktop, but just wanted to check in and see if it is still being seen on your end.

We do appreciate you posting about this as the anecdotes you provide do get shared to the teams responsible for these types of tests and changes.
