Overall US product rating reflecting Canada, Instead of US with more reviews and higher rating

Hi,

I am reaching out due to lack of support from amazon with this issue. My overall rating for my product was a 4.4 with 50 reviews and dropped to 3.2 reviews with the 1 star review making up 26% of my reviews despite there only being 2 out of 50. They seemed to have used the overall product rating for my Canada listing which only takes into account 9 of my 5 star reviews as opposed to the 46 I have with the US listing. This of course hurt my sales, but the rating is inaccurate. Anyone have any experience with this?

Hi @Seller_SomOUe4Yo76SZ,

Thanks for posting to the Forums. Please refer to the information relayed in case 16559676411, as it will include more details about how the rating system is calculated among different countries.

Amazon shares reviews and rating written by verified buyers of the same product in other countries. These ratings are shown in the section "Top reviews from other countries" below the local reviews section on the detail page. The ratings mentions the country where it was originally written. Reviews and ratings may not be shared if they do not meet the internal Amazon policy guidelines for the country.

Amazon calculates a product's star ratings using a machine-learned model instead of a raw data average. The machine-learned model takes into account factors including: the age of a review, helpfulness votes by customers, and whether the reviews are from verified purchases.

The overall star rating includes feedback from customers who simply rated the product (one-tap reviews) as well as the traditional reviews with text, images or video.

Only reviews with text, images and video are displayed in the Customer Reviews section of a product. If more customers rated the product than those who submitted additional content, shoppers will see a difference in the number of ratings displayed and the number of reviews displayed.

Regards,

- Manny
