Amazon delisted one of my ASINs because of too many returns this month, although it has been fine for the past 10 years!

We make and sell a children's training cup. It carries a 4.3 rating. We offer it in multiple colors and combinations of those colors.

Today, Amazon decided to delist one of the 14 variations we offer, citing customer complaints. They want you to acknowledge the problem and confirm that you will address it, even though they don't tell you specifically what you are addressing.

Nonetheless, this product has been on Amazon for about 10 years. Great track record. And now, because of (I assume) too many returns filed for this month (almost all through FBA) it gets delisted. WHAT!!??

Of those 42 returns in the past 30 days, which is 2.8% of the 1451 that we sold in the past month, only 9 of them are for "item is defective". 20 of the 42 have not even been returned to Amazon (just a return request was filed). Over the past 90 days, there are only 60 returns showing.

I have to admit that this is maddening. I suspect this has more to do with customers using incorrect return reasons, or that Amazon resells returns that they deem in good condition, but a customer might disagree.

So, in the meantime, this one ASIN is down over a lousy 30-day count of returns for mostly reasons that are ridiculous (or incorrect), if I'm being honest. 10 years of great track record, and 30 days of returns kills it? That's just nuts. There has to be a better way.

I am going through the "appeal process" after almost instantly being denied on the first attempt.

FWIW we sold about 193k of product last month on Amazon alone. They are all the same product... just different colors or combos of colors. Amazon's cut is around 1/3 of that. That is all that we sell on here.

Thanks for letting me vent!

PS, there are 305 units now stranded at FBA centers because of this. No warning, nothing. Just boom.

@KJ_Amazonare you able to assist with this issue? It seems preposterous that Amazon would remove a product which has maintained excellent metrics over the past 10 years for 1 month of "complaints" or returns. I believe Amazon is in error since the amount of "defective" complaints do not meet the threshold for concern.

I have appealed the decision, then was informed that they needed more info (which appeared to simply be a boilerplate response).

I would appreciate any assistance you might provide.
