Amazon FBA Calculator
Dear Community,
I plan to launch my product using the Amazon FBA ecosystem soon, and by the way I use the Amazon FBA calculator to estimate my costs and revenue.
My question is very simple but has never been clear on amazon help center, and I have never seen someone ask about it on the Amazon Forums
Let me explain my situation: I am sending to Amazon warehouse my products in their packaging for the customers, but packed themselves in cartons. however I want the customer to receive my product into its packaging, not into the carton for Amazon.
Furthermore, I filled the dimensions of my packaging into FBA calculator to estimate my storage costs and other related costs.
My question is:
As I am sending my products in cartons to Amazon, do I need to fill the packaging dimensions of my product OR the cartons dimensions into FBA calculator ? As my cartons contain 2 units of my product and therefore don't have the same dimensions at all as the product packaging, the results in FBA calculator are really different.
Thank you in advance
Regards

Good morning @Seller_nAbLcnvnqPbX5,
I'm happy to provide insights on how to measure your products.
Amazon uses a variety of sensors instrumented throughout fulfillment centers to capture item measurements. The measurement sensors will capture your item packaging edge-to-edge, including loose material, such as plastic bags, or loose parts, such as handles.
To replicate potential machine measurements, take a single item package, with the item inside, as it would be received by a customer. On a flat surface, fully extend loose packaging material, such as polybag flaps and package handles, to capture the maximum item package dimensions. Measure the item package’s longest edge as its length, its second longest edge as its width, and its shortest edge as its height.
If one or more of these dimensions is varies across the package, due to a bulge in the packaging or something similar, measure the longest or thickest part of that dimension. To minimize the dimensions of deformable packaging, ensure that the packaging doesn’t exhibit loose material by using methods such as tight-fitting or vacuum-sealed polybags, or taped flaps.
Please let me know if you have any follow up questions!
