Strikethrough Price Not Showing Despite Active Sale Price
Hi Community Managers and fellow sellers,
I’m trying to understand why the strikethrough price is no longer appearing on one of my listings, even though I believe everything is set up correctly in Seller Central.
Here’s what I’ve set:
- Your Price (Regular Price): $27.99
- Sale Price: $19.99
- Sale Start Date: January 1, 2025
The sale should be active, and there’s a significant discount, but on the live listing, only the sale price is showing — no strikethrough of the original price.
I’ve double-checked the setup, but I’m not sure if:
- A suppression by Amazon’s pricing algorithm due to past pricing history?
- There's a display delay or other requirement I'm unaware of?
- Something else I’m overlooking?
Any help or clarification from the Community Managers or others who’ve experienced this would be really appreciated!

This all has to do with the reference price Amazon generates on your listing. Search "strikethrough" in your search bar and you'll find info on it, but here is what Amazon says:
Among all the other things happening with a reference price, for a strikethrough to occur Amazon has to think the customer is getting a deal out of it. If your item never actually sells for the higher price, they aren't going to use that as the list price and thus you wont have a strikethrough appearing on your page.
So, if you want that List Price to appear with a strikethrough, you must have "substantial sales" at the list price first. (And it's not just you - they are looking at other sellers selling the same/similar items, both on and off Amazon.)

Since the sale has been on since the beginning of the year they probably just decided that is the regular price.

I've had the same issue with my listings. Doesn't matter which one. Notice it right away so has nothing to do with time elapsed or what not. I think Amazon just plays favorites for who gets a strike-through price and who doesn't. Another reason added to the long list of why this platform has been consistently going down the drain for over half a decade.
